Medical Writer

Red Nucleus is seeking a medical writer with a passion for writing about all aspects of medicine – anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, treatment, clinical study results, and the marketplace.


  • Research and write training materials delivered to pharmaceutical, medical device, and/or biotech sales representatives. The end product includes but is not limited to print modules, e-learning programs, and workshop materials
  • Consult with clients and subject matter experts to understand content and subject complexities
  • Attend both onsite and offsite review meetings with the client team and  medical/legal/regulatory team
  • Review/revise training materials created by others for formatting, flow, and educational effectiveness
  • Collaborate with project managers, instructional designers, graphic artists, programmers, editors, and quality assurance specialists to ensure clients’ needs are met and the end product is accurate and of high quality


  • BS/BA in life sciences, pharmacology, medicine, journalism, or writing
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and organizational skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to distill complex scientific information and terminology for all audiences, using words and complementary images
  • Ability to handle multiple and changing projects, tasks, priorities, and deadlines
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment
  • High level of motivation, ability to deal with pressure

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a medical writer a plus
  • Pharmaceutical, medical device, and/or biotechnology sales training experience a plus
  • Ability to conduct necessary research and to reference materials according to AMA formats
  • Experience writing for multimedia
  • Advanced degree a plus
